On February 26, 2019, at the invitation of Prof. Zhang, Dr. Xiao Han from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom visited the Institute of Nanotechnology and gave an academic report entitled "A Novel Ambient Pressure Drying Synthesis of Aerogels". During the meeting, Dr. Han introduced to everyone how to prepare silica aerogels using atmospheric drying methods, gave students research suggestions on the future development direction of aerogels, and researched aerogels in the field of construction. The prospects and application prospects are put forward. Participants showed a keen interest in the preparation principle and application direction of silica aerogel, and had a lively discussion on the content of the report. After the meeting, Dr. Han visited the Engineering Center of the Materials Department, the exhibition hall of the Nano Institute, and the team laboratory, and had an in-depth exchange with the team teachers。
